South African business compliance

Important dates.
One clear calendar.

SARS, payroll, CIPC and employer reporting deadlines, with the detail you need to plan ahead.

IRP6 and ITR14 dates use a February year-end and a normal 12-month financial year. Add a registration date to calculate CIPC annual deadlines. VAT categories D/E and non-standard periods need an individual review.

Published dates and recurring rules

Sources checked 8 September 2026. The calendar covers key SME obligations, not every tax or industry requirement. Recurring dates extend through 2027; 2027 filing-season and ROE windows are not assumed where no confirmed notice is included. Dates are not live-synchronised and extensions may change them. Confirm the official source and your own notices before filing or paying.

Dates unique to your business

Some deadlines start with a change.

CIPC & beneficial ownership

Annual filings follow your registration anniversary. Beneficial ownership changes generally require an update within 10 business days. New incorporations also have an initial BO filing requirement.

CIPC filing rules ↗

VAT & dividends

Non-eFiling VAT is generally due by the 25th of the following month, moved earlier for non-business days. Dividends tax is generally payable by the end of the month after the dividend is paid or becomes due and payable.
